  Project

Dynamic Crossover Jazz Trio

Friday, Oct 09, 2009-7:30 PM

Few classically trained ensembles could even attempt to
work hip-hop into their mix, but Project is busy breaking
all the rules -- and to critical acclaim. Balancing a sincere
allegiance to their classical roots with elements of world
music, jazz, and hip hop (flutist Greg Patillo’s “beatbox
flute” is truly remarkable), this flute, cello and bass trio
has the classical-fusion world standing on its ear.

Master’s degree musicians with degrees from the
Cleveland Institute of Music and Rice University, Project’s
versatile and accessible programs jump skillfully “out of
the box,” enthusiastically beckoning a new generation of
music lovers as no other ensemble can.

“(Beat box flutist, Greg
Pattillo)… the best person in
the world at what he does.”

Daniel Rodriguez

America’s Beloved Tenor, “The Singing Policeman” with Piano

Saturday, Jan 30, 2010-7:30 PM

Former New York City police offi cer, Daniel Rodriguez has
experienced a meteoric rise to fame. He was one of his
department’s designated anthem singers on September
11, 2001, when fate intervened -- he rendered a capella
performances of “God Bless America” and the National
Anthem that proved far greater than a patriotic gesture.
Ringing, heartfelt and beautiful, his performance stirred
the hearts of the entire nation.

Since then, he has performed at venues ranging from
2002 Winter Olympics, to Disneyland, to The White
House. A pillar of courage and faith, Daniel Rodriguez
is truly an inspiration, who freely shares his deep
appreciation for life, God and country.

Rudolf Budginas

Piano Virtuoso with Comedic Commentary

Friday, March 26,2010-7:30 PM

Musical Prodigy Rudolf Budginas debuted with the
Lithuanian National Symphony at age nine, trained at
Moscow Conservatory, and promptly rose to international
fame performing solo concerts. After moving to the U.S.
in 1994, he discovered his true passion: giving classical
music a broader audience appeal.

In his ingenious show “You, Me & the Piano,” Budginas
illustrates how classical music has influenced
contemporary artists by actually breaking down how Billy
Joel might have drawn on Liszt’s “Hungarian Rhapsody”
to get “Piano Man.” Famous for audience and humorous
asides, Rudolf Budginas takes the audience from “Claire
de Lune” to “Rhapsody in Blue” with contagious energy
and endless surprises!

Intersection

Classical String Trio with Modern Flair

Saturday, Apr 24, 2010-7:30 PM

The violin, cello and piano trio, Intersection has forged
a powerful connection with audiences worldwide. As the
group’s numerous recordings top classical and crossover
charts in Asia, their fan base continues to rapidly grow
throughout Europe and the US.

Their program is anything but typical -- a Hungarian thread

in Brahms may spin into Gypsy tunes, Dvorak into Slavic
dance forms, Ravel into ethereal French renderings. And…they present American repertoire spanning avant garde and popular genres. Drawing inspiration from their home base in New York, Intersection is an exciting musical embodiment of vitality, verve and diversity. View their sample video below.
